For more than two years, our family lived with the heartbreak and uncertainty of my mom’s early-onset dementia diagnosis. We toured more than 10 communities throughout San Diego County, trying to find a place where we could feel comfortable leaving someone we love so deeply.
When we found Alpine Village, something just felt different.
They invited us to lunch and encouraged us to spend time in the community so that my mom could experience it in a relaxed, comfortable way. They never made us feel rushed or like we were simply making a decision about a facility. They took the time to understand our family and, most importantly, to understand my mom. That meant everything to us.
What has happened since she moved to Alpine Village honestly feels like a miracle.
My mom is gaining weight. Her hygiene has improved. Her mood has stabilized. And the constant crises, tears, and fear that had become such a painful part of our lives have largely disappeared.
For the first time in years, we can simply be her family again.
For more than two years, so much of our time together was consumed by managing the disease — worrying, fixing problems, trying to keep her safe, and wondering what was going to happen next. Now, when we visit, we can just be together. We can laugh, talk, hug her, share a meal, and enjoy the time we have with her. That gift is impossible to put a price on.
The staff at Alpine Village have been absolutely amazing. They are kind, patient, loving, and genuinely thoughtful. I feel that they see my mom as a person, not just a resident. Knowing that she is surrounded by people who truly care about her has given our family an incredible sense of peace.
And the community itself is beautiful. It is surrounded by mountains and fruit trees, and there is something so peaceful about the setting. One of the things we loved most was the sense of freedom. At many of the other communities we toured, residents were confined to certain wings or specific outdoor areas. At Alpine Village, residents can move freely throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces, with a secure gate providing safety. It feels natural. It feels open. Most importantly, it feels like home.
The transition was so much easier than we ever imagined it could be.
After two years of living with so much worry and heartache, I can finally breathe. I don't wake up wondering if my mom is okay. I don't spend my days waiting for the next crisis. I know she is being cared for. I know she is safe. And I know she is happy.
That has lifted a weight from our entire family that I don't think I even realized we were carrying.
Alpine Village has given us something we desperately needed — peace of mind, hope, and the ability to have our mom back in our lives in a different but beautiful way.
I truly feel like our prayers have been answered. We will forever be grateful to Alpine Village and the incredible people who care for my mom every day.

Not your average memory care facility! Having experienced other facilities I can say with confidence that Alpine View Lodge stands above all others in their commitment to care. The attendants have not only respect and kindness for their residents but actually love them and it shows! From the moment my loved one moved in she has continued to thrive and I absolutely attribute it to their care! I was at Alpine View Lodge providing dental hygiene care for the residents. During my visit, I was impressed by the staff’s compassion, attentiveness, and dedication to resident well-being. The residents appeared comfortable, respected, and well cared for. It is clear that the team is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for those they serve.

Alpine View Lodge, has the most loving and caring staff I've ever seen, the kindness, gentleness, and sincere interactions with each patient, each having different needs, is beautiful to see. They actually love their patients. I've spent many many hours there, observing while caring for my own patient. I would highly recommend. Each patient room has a big bright patio door,. I have never smelled urine in any hallway. There are activities: bingo, painting outside music dancing fun and exercise as able, homemade fresh meals, with variety. Who needs 12 foot ceilings, with lots of unnessesary posh plush, this one is the real deal, clean, orderly, kind. So, no, not stunning achicture, but is just perfect with what really matters.
The owner of this home works tirelessly to provide residents with an exceptional level of care and service. Its size allows for a strong resident-to-staff ratio, which helps ensure personalized attention and support. There is truly no price you can put on the peace of mind that comes from knowing your loved one is being well cared for. Highly recommend!

From the beginning we felt a genuine sense of compassion and warmth from every single staff member. This staff is beyond amazing with every resident. I spent a lot of time there visiting my mother and the team made us feel supported and reassured every step of the way. The caregivers treat each resident with such kindness, patience and respect. They truly take the time to get to know each person and their families. They created an environment that felt both dignified and comforting, it never felt like “just a job” to them; you can tell they genuinely care. Knowing our mom was surrounded by people who were not only attentive but also warm and compassionate brought us tremendous peace of mind. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility to any family searching for a place where their loved one will be treated with dignity, patience, and heartfelt care. This is truly a special place!
Alpine view Lodge has taken amazing care of their Residents. If Mom or Grandma is bedbound, they rotate them every two hours and change their briefs frequently to prevent bed sores. Staff are very friendly and attentive to all needs. I highly recommend Alpine View! Thank you Alpine View for your excellent service and care!

Alpine View Lodge is a beautiful facility for your loved ones. I brought my mother to AVL after a horrible experience with a facility in Rancho San Diego. She is now in a family environment with a staff who are amazing, loving, kind and caring. The facility is always clean and well maintained.
